The short version: we collect your email to send you the newsletter. That's the whole business model. No selling your data, no creepy stuff.

Who we are

What we collect
When you subscribe, we collect your email address. That's it from you directly. Like almost every website, our hosting also automatically logs basic technical info when you visit (things like your IP address, browser type, and which pages you viewed), which is used to keep the site running and secure.
What we use it for
Your email is used to send you newsletter issues and, occasionally, things we think you'll actually want, like free resources we've made. We send email because you asked us to, and every single email has an unsubscribe link that works on the first click.
What we never do
We don't sell your email. We don't rent it, trade it, or hand it to sponsors. If that ever changed (it won't), you'd hear it from us first and loudly.
Who touches the data
Your email lives with Ghost.org, the service that stores our list and sends the newsletter. Ghost.org also hosts this site. If you subscribed through our Substack, your email is stored there too, and if you message us through the Work with us form, that message is handled by Formspree. These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy terms. Because our readers and tools are spread across different countries, your data may be stored on servers outside your own country, protected by those providers' safeguards.
Cookies
This site doesn't run advertising trackers. We use only the essential cookies needed for the site to function. We don't use your browsing here to follow you around the internet.
How long we keep it
As long as you're subscribed. Unsubscribe and you come off the active list; ask us to delete you entirely and we will.
Your rights
Wherever you live, and especially if you're in the EU, UK or similar jurisdictions, you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@thebettermarketerproject.com and we'll sort it, no forms, no fuss. You can also complain to your local data protection authority, though we'd love the chance to fix things first.
Kids
The newsletter is written for working marketers and isn't directed at children under 16. We don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If this policy changes in any way that matters, we'll note it here with a new date, and tell the list if it's significant.
